ABOUT MY SESSION

I tutor most afternoons and evenings as well as at weekends, with no seasonal variations. Which ages and levels do I teach? I teach every level from age five to adults (KS1, KS2, 11+, Common Entrance and 13+).

I can tutor KS2 and above. My Teaching Style Three key elements present themselves in the teaching profession. The first is enabling pupils to understand the subject they are being taught, and retain the necessary facts to pass their examinations. The primary objective of a private tutor has always been to enable his or her pupils to excel academically. But doing well in exams is more than a matter of retaining facts: self-assurance is vital also. At the primary and secondary level, it is especially important to focus on building up self-belief and motivation, thereby enabling each student to reach their potential.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

I am an experienced private tutor who studied at Eton College and Oxford University. I have 10 O'levels and three A'levels (in English, History and RE).
I have a DBS disclosure certificate which can be provided upon request.

I am a qualified teacher and have four years of one-to-one tuition experience tutoring in the range of Classical subjects- Latin, Greek, Classical Civilisation- and French up to degree level. From IB to GCSE,Common Entrance to Cambridge Pre-U, I have worked with students on a range of curriculums and I always endeavour to pass on my students my knowledge of the ancient world and of languages. I am committed to supporting my students to achieve their highest marks in their CE, scholarship and A-Level examinations. Two of my tutees were awarded the Queen's Scholarship in 2015 and 2017. In addition, my A-Level students have admitted entry to Oxbridge, and other Russell group universities.

TEACHING STYLE

I am a creative teacher using a wide range of platforms and platforms such as google drive, zoom, Anki and Kahoot. My teaching style is structured and very thorough. Every lesson is of course different, and tailored to the tutee`s requirements That said, I always endeavour to make classical languages interesting and relatable to my younger students by writing stories in Latin or playing games combining language and numeracy skills.

ABOUT ME

An experienced and creative online teacher committed to good practice and innovation. Currently using a variety of platforms and applications e.g. Classin, Zoom and Skype to deliver tuition for 11 plus,13 plus Common Entrance exams and KS3 and KS4 English Literature and Language students globally (a large majority of Chinese students in preparation for entry into UK Public schools e.g. Westminster and St. Paul’s). At Ipswich Tuition Centre I tutored KS3 and KS4 students, English Language and Literature (GCSE- AQA, WJEC, Cambridge IGCSE and Edexcel) and at Saxmundham Free School, Suffolk taught English, Art and PSHE to KS3 and KS4. I was an English Language consultant for Suffolk Refugee Support, Ipswich where my role included teacher training, setting up homework clubs and English Language classes for teenage refugees and asylum seekers.

ABOUT MY SESSION

My lessons will revolve around topics areas which will have been discussed in a preliminary meeting. From this, I will focus on unseen practice and strategies, or discussion of themes in set text passages, as well as furthering my students essay style by looking at work of theirs, and brainstorming ways to develop it.
