It is the first and most popular book in the series of fantasy novels known as The Chronicles of Narnia. In this book, Lewis introduces Lucy and his readers to the mysterious world of Narnia and involves them in the battle that would save it from the grasps of evil witches. 

 

What sort of changes in mentality and personality did you notice in the four siblings as the story progresses? How do these changes as well as the sibling interactions involved shape both them and the plot?

What does Edmund’s fanatical passion for Turkish Delight symbolise, and how does this explain Edmund’s blind act of turning his siblings over to the White Witch?

How would you describe Aslan as a person? Do you like him, and why? How does this character help the children and readers to understand how in reality, something can be both good and bad at the same time? What are some of the other incidents in the story that suggest such a paradox? 

To what extent do you believe in fate? Were the children fated or destined to become Kings and Queens?
